Dr. Mark Buzza
Mark is the Director of Global Biomedical Research Programs at the Movember Foundation where he oversees the Foundation’s prostate cancer biomedical research investments. This is a AUD$300 million research portfolio with investments that span human capital, discovery research and translational research, with 570 projects in various stages of implementation across 21 countries.
Mark’s 20 year career spans medical and clinical research, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, not-for-profit and healthcare services and he has held senior management and leadership roles within these sectors. He has also worked with multinational organisations on strategy development and implementation projects as a management consultant.
Mark has published widely in high-impact international medical and innovation journals, has been a business mentor and a guest lecturer at RMIT University and is also an Advisor to the Dublin-based global Digital Health collaboration platform – HealthXL.
Mark has a BSc (Hons) from La Trobe University, a PhD in Molecular Medicine from the University of Melbourne, an Executive MBA (with distinction) from the RMIT Graduate School of Business and Law and is a registered PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner.
When he’s not busy being a Dad to his two young daughters, Mark is usually thinking about systems change, social innovation and making a difference to patients lives via global collaboration.
