Dr. James K. Woodell (he goes by Jim) has been working in higher education for more than thirty years and helps colleges and universities realise their full potential as drivers of economic and social prosperity in their communities. Using his expertise and skills, he focuses on creating plans and building collaboration between the institutions and their current and prospective partners in the private, civic, and government sectors.
He is a recognised thought and action leader in his field, with career highlights such as:
- Serving as vice president for economic development and community engagement at the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU)
- Serving as an advisor to the Center for Advancing Research Impact in Society’s National Alliance for Broader Impacts, the National Academy of Inventors, and MForesight—the Alliance for Manufacturing Foresight
- Speaking at national and international forums on higher education’s role in economic and community development
- Earning a Ph.D. in Higher Education at Penn State University and completing his dissertation focused on how leadership at a public research university advanced an economic and social development mission
