Laura J. Damschroder
I am an implementation researcher, which means that I focus on getting effective programs into use by clinicians to benefit patients’ health and well-being. I see so many practitioners (clinicians, providers, staff) on the front lines who struggle with multiple competing priorities, so little time and yet who passionately want to implement improvements and deliver the very best care they can. Implementation research is a complex area – I want to make it more accessible to help empower people working at the front lines to make those improvements – whether it’s implementing a new evidence-based program or making a smaller incremental improvement. I have led many research studies and evaluations, including several related to getting comprehensive lifestyle programs implemented. I have been a visiting fellow with several academic institutions in interesting places around the world. I love to travel, be with my amazing daughters, read, eat great food, and think about doing art projects.
