Dr Tullio Rossi is a marine biologist turned science communicator, and founder of Animate Your Science (AYS), a global agency helping researchers make their work impossible to ignore. During his PhD on climate change, Tullio realised peer-reviewed papers alone weren't reaching anyone. So he made an animated video about his research, entered it into competitions, and won three awards, thousands of dollars in prizes, and actually reached people. AYS was born from that lightbulb moment. Today, AYS works with researchers across 80+ countries (yes, including Antarctica) producing animated videos, scientific graphics, and training through workshops and online courses. Tullio is one of Australia's leading voices on AI for researchers, teaching scientists to use this tech to work smarter, communicate better, and win more grants. Outside work, you'll find him on a dive somewhere exotic, cooking tagliatelle al ragù, or chasing a very energetic two-year-old. His mission: put science at the centre of public conversation, one well-told story at a time.
