Speaker Bio:
One night at a networking event many years ago, I was asked the usual question, ‘What do you do?’And I blurted out something unexpected. I said, ‘I used to be an architect but I don’t design buildings anymore. Instead, I design ideas.’ I’ve been calling myself the ‘Ideas Architect’ ever since. This marries my degrees in architecture with my client work with thought leaders and subject matter experts. I help them design, build and sell their ideas. In other words, I help them translate their education, experience and expertise into books, board games, manifestos, presentations, courses and content. Plus, I do this for myself. I’ve written 10 books, almost 100 ebooks, over 1000 blog posts and published over 100 YouTube videos. And I’ve created numerous courses on topics ranging from trend spotting and content marketing to creativity and project design. I’m also a sculptor and painter having exhibited my artworks in my bedroom for many years and more recently in public. I’m most proud of having presented to international design conferences in the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Some of my clients have been: • Melbourne Business School (University of Melbourne), • The American Insitute of Architects, • NEC, • Professional Speakers Australia, • James Hardie, • Leadership Development Centre (NZ), • Union of International Architects (Canada) Watch my interview if you want a fresh perspective on how to pitch ideas and translate what you know so other people can apply it.
