Dr. Tamika Heiden is the Principal and Founder of the Research Impact Academy, a global organisation, based in Australia, that helps researchers and research organisations achieve their goals. She is a passionate advocate for research impact and has over 15 years of experience in the field. Tamika began her career as a researcher in the field of health. She quickly became disillusioned with the traditional approach to research, which she felt was too focused on publication and not enough on impact and left academia to pursue a career in knowledge translation, where she worked to bridge the gap between research and practice. In 2014, Tamika founded Knowledge Translation Australia, which later rebranded as the Research Impact Academy. The academy provides a range of services to help researchers and research organizations achieve their goals, including training and development, consulting, coaching, membership, and events. Under Tamika’s leadership, the Research Impact Academy has helped researchers to secure millions of dollars in research funding and to make a real-world impact. She is a respected thought leader in the field of research impact and is regularly invited to speak at conferences and events around the world.
