Tara is Head of Research Development and Commercialisation at Telethon Kids Institute and
provides strategic oversight of the Institute’s Grants, Impact and Commercialisation teams. With qualifications in Psychology and Education, Tara’s team is focused on delivering an exceptional level of support to increase grant success rates and revenue and to support the translation of research via tech transfer. Personally, she has a strong interest in the global research impact agenda and supporting the professional development of the next generation of research administrators. She is actively engaged with the Australian Research Management Society (ARMS) and with the Australian Medical Research Institute (AAMRI) Strategy Network. Tara is co-chair of the national AAMRI Research Impact Working Group who are funded by the Ian Potter Foundation. This group has recently published the AAMRI Research Impact Framework which identified a set of consensus research impact metrics for the Medical Research Institute (MRI) sector, as well as identifying best practices that promote the translation of research to impact. She is also Non-Executive Board member of Grow Impact, a spin out of Telethon Kids Institute that is developing a software system designed to capture and communicate progress towards achieving research impact.
